Work Details: 

Prof. M. Narayana Swamy has been involved in teaching undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral students in his long service of 32 years. He has served as Major Advisor for 17 M. V. Sc. and 07 Ph. D students. As a member of Advisory Committee, guidance was given to 58 Masters and 21 Doctoral scholars. Completed two university funded research projects. Served as Co-Principal investigator of FIST programme.

Published seven books in Kannada language such as Jaanuvaaru, Tene Mareya Kranthi : Ragi Lakshmanaiah, Pashuvaidya Sampada, Nimage Neeve Belakaagi, Mahanadiya Ugama, Jnana Vijnana and Naadu Mareyada Maharaja – Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wodiyar.  

He has published a total of 259 scientific publications, which includes 101 research articles and 69 popular articles. Prof. M. Narayana Swamy has delivered a total of 17 radio talks from All India Radio, Bangalore and two interviews in the radio programme ‘Haridu Baa Taayi Arkavathi’, the programme aimed at raising  awareness for the rejuvenation of the Arkavathi river during 2005.

He is serving as a member of Editorial Board or Editorial Team for the Journals such as Journal of Advanced Veterinary  Research, Theriogenology Insight, Scientific Journal of Animal Sciences and Scientific Journal of Veterinary Advances. His Doctoral students got two prestigious fellowships, such as INSPIRE Fellowship from Department of Science and Technology, Government of India during 2011 and DST – PhD Fellowship from the Department of Science and Technology, Government of Karnataka during 2020.

Awards Details:

1. 1. Dr. T. Prabhakaran  Memorial Award Best Research Article for the year 2000 from Indian Veterinary Association, New Delhi.
2. 2. Dr. H. N. Award from Samskrithi Prakashana, Bellary for the year 2014.
3. 3. Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam Life Time Achievement National Award for the year 2019 for distinguished Contributions to the Development of the Nation and achieving outstanding Excellence in the field of Teaching, Research and Publications by International Institute for Social and Economic Reforms.
4. 4. Reviewer Excellence Award for nine times from Agricultural Research Communication Center on 15.11.2016, 04.07.2019, 10.12.2019, 09.06.2020, 17.08.2020, 28.12.2020,17.03.2021, 23.06.2021, 17.06.2022 and 01.01.2023.
5. 5. Joint awards as co-author: i) Best Poster Presentation Award from Indian Society of Veterinary Pharmacology and  Toxicology (2005), ii) Award for Young Investigator from India and Southeast Asia’ from Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (2016), iii) Best Poster Presentation award by the Animal Physiologists Association (2019), iv) Best Poster Presentation award from World Veterinary Poultry Association (India) (2020) and v) InSc Award 2020 for best research article.
