The College of Fisheries is under the Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Science University, Bidar.

The college was established in the 1970s with the assistance of the government of Japan, and the entire college was constructed in a picturesque location by renowned American architects and engineers. For the past 50 years, the dedicated staff of this college have been producing well-qualified students with bachelor's, master's, and Ph.D. degrees. This institution provides all the facilities and support for students to improve their communication skills, critical thinking abilities, moral values, and sense of responsibility to the nation, aside from regular academics.

All efforts are made by the faculty to improve the creativity and problem-solving abilities of the students so that they can contribute their best to society and the country. The infrastructure in the college is being developed with modern equipment and technologies in aquaculture sciences, climate change adaptation, water resources management, pathology, food technology, and other related fields to meet the emerging challenges of the country.
