Obtained B.V.Sc. in 1986 and M.V.Sc. (Animal Nutrition) in 1989. Acquired Ph.D. in Animal Nutrition at Animal Nutrition Division at IVRI, Izatnagar in 2003. Field of research in masters as well as for doctoral degree was on trace mineral nutrition of growing calves. Worked for a brief period of 6 months in IAH & VB centers at Ranebennur taluk in a research project on “The study of effect of Tungabhadra river water on the health of animal and birds”. Joined University service on 28.09.1989. Rendered service in the University as Instructor, Assistant professor, Farm Superintendent (Deoni Cattle Breeding Station, Bidar) and Associate Professor at Bidar and serving currently as Professor and Head in the Department of Animal Nutrition, Veterinary College, Shivamogga. In addition to teaching undergraduate and post graduate students of Veterinary Science, guided 5 M.V.Sc. students, member of advisory committee of several post graduate students. Undertaken research projects funded by Dabur Ayurvet Co., NRC for Sorghum, Hyderabad, DBT, RKVY and SUJALA water shed projects etc. Published more than 60 articles, research abstracts, chapters in various scientific and popular periodicals.
