VETERINARY SURGERY AND RADIOLOGY

Under the auspices of Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Sciences University, Bidar, Department of Veterinary Surgery and Radiology was established at Veterinary College, Shivamogga in the year 2009.  Three undergraduate courses viz,  VSR 411( 2+2), VSR 421 ( 2+1) and VSR  511(1+1) , are being offered as per MSVE- 2008 of VCI and Veterinary Surgery and Radiology ( 2+1) in the Fourth Professional year under MSVE- 2016.

Over the period of last ten years, the department is involved actively in the diagnosis, treatment, control and health advisory activities for the livestock, pet and wild animals through providing services in the Veterinary Clinical Complex, Ambulatory clinics, Goshalas and Animal health camps. The department  has established marked liaison with Government and private institution / organizations in Malnad region (viz, Obscure disease Research Center,  Shivamogga, Dept. of AH& VS, Shivamogga Milk Union, Tiger and Lion Safari Tyavarekoppa, Elephant camp Sakrebailu, Mahaveera Goshala Shivamogga etc.,)
