VETERINARY ANATOMY
Department of Veterinary Anatomy is one of the preclinical subject in BVSc & AH course curriculum. As per VCI (MSVE 2016) the course Veterinary anatomy with 4+3 credit hours is offering for first profession year of B.V.Sc & A.H. The department has recognized to offer post graduation (PG) programme in Veterinary Anatomy. The department has all basic equipments facility required for conducting undergraduate practical as prescribed by MSVE 2016 and PG programme. The department is supported with major instruments like semiautomatic microtome, trinocular research microscope with CCTV camera, stereozoom microscopes etc. for the staff research purpose.
Two KVAFSU funded, 1. Gross Anatomy of bones of mudhol hound dog breed.(0.22 laks) and 2. Development of vascularized biomaterial from Basella rubra leaves for tissue engineering applications (0.50 lakh) and one BIRAC-SRISTI funded, Development of Scaffold Technology for Industrial Progress, Societal Benefit and Environmental Safety (one lakh) projects were completed under Staff Research programme.
Two patents like 1. Method of processing of decellularized extracellular matrix for bio-medical applications (Application No. 201641029234) And 2. Sustainable bioproducts from keratin based materials for multiple applications and method of their processing (Application No.: 201641036418) are under process and one Transfer of BioInsole technology to M/s BioDPol Scientific Pvt Ltd. Bengaluru, for commercialization. And BioLarvicide Technology is under process.
The Department faculty has published research articles in referred national and international journals and also involving in various extension activities conducted both at College and University level.
