VETERINARY ANATOMY
The department has identified the following thrust areas. Gross, histological and histo-chemical studies on gastrointestinal tract and respiratory system of Hassan, Kenguri & Bannur sheep breeds; minimizing the formalin effects on the students and staff members by using formalin absorbing indoor plants and gross & histomorphological studies on wildlife specimens.
The department is well equipped with facilities such as bone cutting facilities, semi automatic microtome and associated instruments to conduct gross, histology and histo-chemical studies.
A museum established in the department with good collection of skeletons, visceral organs of different domestic and wild animals, etc, draws attention of visitors including school children, students, farmers and general public. The faculty is involved in extension activities like, krushi- pashu melas, animal health camps, farmers training, radio talks, etc.
