Outstanding Doctoral Thesis Research in Agricultural and Allied Sciences -2013 (Animal Sciences)’ by ICAR, New Delhi.  The award was presented by Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri. Narendra Modi  and Hon’ble Minister of Agriculture Shri. Radha Mohan Singh on the occasion of celebration of 86th Foundation Day of  ICAR on 29.07.2014 at NASC Complex, ICAR, New Delhi.

Other Achievement

Dr.D.Rathnamma was involved in the development of indirect ELISA for Bovine Leptosirosis and Jhone’s disease, Real time PCR detection kit for Infectious bovine Rhinotrachitis, Multiplex PCR for major mastitis causing pathogens and antimicrobial genes, Biofilm based vaccine against bovine mastitis, Molecular epidemiology of Classical wine fever. She has guided 8 Ph.D. and 14 MVSc students in Veterinary Microbiology. She was resource person/organizer in national/international training, refresher course, summer, winter schools, seminars, conferences, symposia and workshops (28). She has published research papers in international (37) and National (63) journals. She has three patents (1.Development of Real time PCR based Antigen detection kit for Diagnosis of Bovine Herpes Virus-1. 2) Development of biofilm based vaccine against Bovine mastitis. 3) Recombinant Brucella lumazine synthase antigen based ELISA).
