Other Achievement

He has more than 30 years of experience in teaching and researching Veterinary Anatomy and Histology. Specifically, his technical and professional specialization includes mentoring students in Gross Anatomy, Microscopic Anatomy and Embryology.  His research area employs several advanced technologies including electron microscopic, immuno-histochemical techniques and new methods such as FT-IR spectroscope to distinguish endangered animal species from other wild animals in an effort to combat the menace of poaching wild life resources of the state.

Apart from working as professor and head in the department, he has worked as Head of Division (pre-clinical) and worked as Dean, Veterinary College, Hassan, and Dean veterinary College, Shivamogga. And also worked as Acting Vice- Chancellor of the University from 22.06.2016 to 22.02.2018.

He has guided more than 20 Post Graduate students and more than 8 Ph.D students and published more than 15 papers in international journals and more than 40 papers in national journals and written and coauthored more than 10 books. He has handled 6 Projects funded by different funding agencies and associated himself with many international bodies for research.  He has received more than 20 awards for his outstanding work in the field  of Veterinary Anatomy.

  • Effectively led the transition of structure of Veterinary Anatomy syllabus from a Systemic approach to Regional approach emphasizing knowledge of clinical training.  The same has been accepted by Veterinary Council of India and is included in MSVE 2016 regulations.
  • Initiated the steps for implementation of e-governance, solar plants for electricity generation, sewage treatment plants and rain water harvesting in all campuses. As Vice- Chancellor.
  • Led the effort to achieve the vital recognition by  Veterinary Council of India, New Delhi  for the Shivamogga Veterinary College retrospectively from 2011 and accreditation by the prestigious Indian Council of Agricultural Research New Delhi.
  • Successfully started new colleges at Hassan(as Dean), and  Gadag (As Vice Chancellor) Started 3 Diploma Courses in Animal Science in Karanataka State (As Vice Chancellor).
