	Dr N Basavaraja	Presented with `Dr I. Karunasagar Award for the Best Indian Ph.D. Thesis. The award is given by the Professional Fisheries Graduates Forum (an all-India Body), Mumbai, in recognition of a high quality research and timely publication of results in high impact journals. The award consisting of a gold medal and a certificate, was presented to me at the M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation, Chennai, on the 24th June, 2006. Received a certificate of Merit from Karnataka Veterinary Animal and Fisheries Sciences University (Bidar), in recognition of Research Grant Mobilization worth of Rs. 34.93 lakhs from DBT, MST, New Delhi for operating the research project `Production of all-male population of ornamental fishes through application of aromatase inhibitor’, as PI. Received a certificate of Merit from Karnataka Veterinary Animal and Fisheries Sciences University (Bidar), in recognition of Research Grant Mobilization worth of Rs. 7.57 lakhs from ICAR, New Delhi for operating the research project `Development of induced breeding technology for the Indian sand whiting, Sillagosihama’,as PI.
