35 years of experience in Teaching, Research and diagnostics

  • Joined   the Department of Veterinary Pathology as an Instructor in the Year 1982 and actively involved since then in undergraduate teaching and diagnostic work of the department.
  • Completed Master’s degree in the year 1986 and PhD degree in the year 1998. Actively involved in U G and PG Teaching.
  • Associated with departmental and PG research activity.
  • Guided 26 students for Masters and 9 students for PhD degree programme besides serving as member of advisory committee of 110 students of various departments.
  • Involved in organizing training programmes for Veterinarians and Para veterinary staff.
  • Involved in organizing national and state seminars and work shop. Participated in seminars, workshop and conferences and have presented more than 125 papers in conferences and published more than 95 research papers in reputed journals.
  • Served as honorary Advisor to many poultry breeding farms, feed mills and pharmaceutical

 companies.

  • Actively involved in poultry disease diagnosis work.
  • Recipient of Varsha award for Best poultry Pathologist and Vetcare Award for Outstanding contribution in mycotoxicosis during IAVP Conferences. Two Post graduate students were awarded Young scientists award.
  • Obtained Funding under FIST Programme of Department of Science & Technology, Govt of India for Infrastructure Development.
  • Served as selection Committee member for other Veterinary universities.
  • Served as External Examiner for UG and Post-Graduate Courses of other Universities.
  • Served as External Examiner for Qualifying Examinations and Thesis evaluation of Post graduates. Interested in the area of Poultry Pathology, Toxicopatholgy and Clinical Pathology.
  • Served as External Examiner for Qualifying Examinations and Thesis evaluation of Post graduates. Interested in the area of Poultry Pathology, Toxicopatholgy and Clinical Pathology.
  • Responsible for intiating and validating anti diabetic properties of several herbal preparations under VGST project, Govt of Karnataka.

  • Recipient of Savithree Jibachch Sinha Award for Best Poster entitled Pathology and pathogenesis of Newcastle disease in poultry and best veterinarian award
  • One Post graduate student was awarded best thesis award and eight with Young scientist’s award and another with best oral presentation award under my guidance.

Dr. K.R. Anjan Kumar is from the  garden city of Karnataka, Bengaluru. He has a veterinary degree from Veterinary College, Bengaluru (B.VSc & A.H - 2007) and obtained Master’s degree in Veterinary Pathology at Madras Veterinary College with a dissertation on Expression of Cancer Stem Cell lineage markers -CD44, CD24 & ESA in the Prognosis of Canine Mammary tumors (M.V.Sc - 2009).
In the year 2012, he joined the Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Sciences University, Bidar as Assistant Professor, Department of Veterinary Pathology, Veterinary College, Shivamogga and actively involved since then in Teaching and Diagnostic duties.
He is a life member of IAVP and received several distinction for his research work on Canine Mammary Tumours including

    1. Prof. (Dr.) S. Ramachandran Memorial Molecular Oncology Award – 2010. (IAVP)
    2. Young Pathologist Award - 2011 (South Zone - IAVP)

He has participated in several scientific conferences and is author of more than 16 peer reviewed papers on tumour biology, biomedical research and immunohistological techniques.
Dr. K.R. Anjan Kumar is highly involved in animal cancer research and diagnostic activities.  His main research interests are in Animal Cancer Biology, Animal Cancer Models, Immunohistochemistry, Biomarkers and Cytology. He also has a long standing interest in Companion Animal Tumors and currently working as the Principal Investigator of Science and Engineering Research Board, New Delhi sanctioned Project on “Characterization and prognostic evaluation of embryonic stem cell signatures in canine mammary neoplasia” for a period of four years.

Dr. Manjunatha K.P., is from Bengaluru, who joined B.V.Sc in 2001, M.V.Sc in 2006 and PhD in 2010. He joined KVAFSU, Bidar in the year 2013 with first placement at Hassan Veterinary College. His PhD Dissertation was on Pathomorphological studies on induced diabetes in rats and evaluation of anti-diabetic efficacy of Pterocarpus marsupium and Swertia chirayita extracts. 

He is a life member of IAVP and received several distinction for his research work on diabetes including

  1. SKM Animal Feeds and Foods (India) Ltd., young scientist  award at IAVP Annual Conference 2014
  2. ICVP Case Presentation award – 2018

He has participated in several scientific conferences and is author of more than 15 peer reviewed papers.
He also has a long standing interest in Molecular diagnostics of Infectious diseases, Molecular biology and Laboratory animal pathology.
