Earlier he has worked as Veterinary Officer: From 24.02.1988 to 30.12.2000 in AH & VS, GOK. And as Assistant Director From 31.12.2000 to 20.05.2011 in AH & VS, GOK. And Associate Professor and Head in Department of Veterinary Pathology, Veterinary College, Hassan, KVAFSU, Bidar from 20.05.2011 to 27.07.2015.

Dr Kavitha Rani B, joined the KVAFS University as Assistant Professor in 2007 at Veterinary College, Bangalore, and is presently placed at Veterinary College, Shivamogga since 2008. She is involved in teaching, research and extension activities, and has served as the Head of the Department from 2008 to 2014, being responsible for establishment of the department, the pathology museum and UG teaching facility from grassroots at Veterinary College, Shivamogga. She is the first lady teaching staff, first lady warden of Girls Hostel at Veterinary College, Shivamogga.

Dr Kavitha graduated in 1997 with first rank and distinction, being the recipient of four gold medals in the Bachelor's degree from University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore. She completed her post graduation in 2000 in Veterinary Pathology, with first rank and distinction from University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore. She is the recipient of Dr CM Singh Best Research Article award published in the Indian Journal of Veterinary Pathology (IJVP) conferred by The Indian Association of Veterinary Pathologists (IAVP) during the year 2000. She has more than twenty accolades and awards to her credit including Best Oral presentation, Best poster presentation and Best paper presentations etc from various scientific bodies.

Before joining the University, she has served for seven years from 2000-2007, in a DSIR recognized R&D unit of Vetcare, at Bangalore, as Deputy Manager involved in research on target animals and has been trained overseas for the same at the Research & Technology centre of PROVIMI in The Netherlands and Belgium. During her tenure she has been conferred with long service & best service award and organizational commitments award. She is also trained in Internal Quality audits from NIQR, Bangalore and, ISO 22000 quality systems and FAMI-QS by Det Norske Veritas, Netherlands.

Dr Kavitha has over 25 research articles, over 45 research presentations in seminars & conferences, several popular articles, radio talks, talks delivered for farmers training etc. She has been an active crusader for Youth festivals and cultural activities throughout her career, representing KVAFSU at National level youth festivals. She is member for several professional societies, fellow of united writers association of India, an activist of Animal Welfare Board of India and active member of Indian Association of Women Veterinarians.

Her area of research interest is wildlife diseases, alternative medicine research and evaluation by molecular pathology for metabolic diseases affecting man and animals. She has two research projects as Principal Investigator, and has been the Co-PI for several other inter-disciplinary projects.

Dr. K.R. Anjan Kumar is from the  garden city of Karnataka, Bengaluru. He has a veterinary degree from Veterinary College, Bengaluru (B.VSc & A.H - 2007) and obtained Master’s degree in Veterinary Pathology at Madras Veterinary College with a dissertation on Expression of Cancer Stem Cell lineage markers -CD44, CD24 & ESA in the Prognosis of Canine Mammary tumors (M.V.Sc - 2009).

In the year 2012, he joined the Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Sciences University, Bidar as Assistant Professor, Department of Veterinary Pathology, Veterinary College, Shivamogga and actively involved since then in Teaching and Diagnostic duties. He is a life member of IAVP and received several distinction for his research work on Canine Mammary Tumours including

    1. Prof. (Dr.) S. Ramachandran Memorial Molecular Oncology Award – 2010. (IAVP)
    2. Young Pathologist Award - 2011 (South Zone - IAVP)

He has participated in several scientific conferences and is author of more than 10 peer reviewed papers on tumour biology, biomedical research and immunohistological techniques.

Dr. K.R. Anjan Kumar is highly involved in animal cancer research and diagnostic activities.  His main research interests are in Animal Cancer Biology, Animal Cancer Models, Immunohistochemistry, Biomarkers and Cytology. He also has a long standing interest in Companion Animal Tumors and currently working as the Principal Investigator of Science and Engineering Research Board, New Delhi sanctioned Project on “Characterization and prognostic evaluation of embryonic stem cell signatures in canine mammary neoplasia” for a period of four years.
